Jodie Harris

Jodie Harris is an Australian Actress, Singer and Voice Artist.

She is also an Audie and SOVAS nominated Audiobook Narrator and a Singing Teacher, Vocal Coach and Acting Coach working from her studio in Nowra on the NSW South Coast.

After training at the National Theatre in Melbourne, Jodie completed a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theatre at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

 

Jodie most recently appeared as Junie Morosi and Lady Anne Kerr in the workshop production of the new Australian musical The Dismissal for Squabbalogic and had the pleasure of bringing Ellen Kelly to life in another Australian musical, NED. Previously Jodie toured throughout Australia and New Zealand in Disney and Cameron MacKintosh’s production of Mary Poppins where she understudied and played the roles of Mrs Banks, the Birdwoman and Miss Lark, and took over the role of Katie Nanna for the New Zealand season. Other Music Theatre credits include playing an Usherette in The Producers and Sophia in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, both for The Production Company; the role of Beth in Little Women for Kookaburra NMTC; Rebecca Rigby in the world premiere of The Hatpin; and appeared in My Fair Lady for Opera Australia.

 

You may recognise her from the many TV Commercials she has appeared in; most recently for Foxtel, Telstra and Rest Superannuation. Other screen credits include Hoges, Home and Away, and the short films Talk To Someone, A Thief Observed, and Duration of Stay.

Her credits as a featured vocalist include singing the Australian National Anthem at Canberra Stadium (Australia vs Italy Rugby World Cup), performing alongside acclaimed American composer John Bucchino in his live Australian tour, harmonising in Hayden Tee's Generation Y? live album recording and joining fellow cast members of Mary Poppins in the charity concert The Brolly Follies which raised money for the Starlight Foundation.

Jodie holds a Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science and incorporates this scientific knowledge into her more holistic teaching practice. She is inspired by the positive influence creativity has on one's overall well-being, in particular vocal expression through singing.

​

With Italian/Irish heritage, Jodie grew up along the Murray River in North West Victoria. There she attended singing, dance, piano and acting lessons from a young age and made the most of what was on offer in a small country town - from performing in one-act play festivals to country music festivals, she gained diverse performance experience which still serves her today.
